Wilderness Blanket

Suani Guzman - 01/14/2008

I want to encourage you all by sharing something that happened recently. I had been praying for God to be our provider but, as in most cases, we don't see God's provision because we have our own money and run to the store and buy whatever we need, so we don't get the miracle.

We had need of a blanket because we don't use the heater at night. So Iresolved to ask the Lord and not run to the store. I was tempted many times, especially when I went to the store and walked around the blanket bins, contemplating which one would be good.

One day as I was making my bed I prayed to God that if we had to wait and endure cold I was willing. I confessthat afterward I did have a thoughtabout justgetting it. Well, God is merciful. As we don't celebrateChristmas we had no expectations of getting any presents. We do have afamily dinner though. I had prayed thatGod would be glorifiedthat night. Itturns out that my sister's car got broken into as well as another one right next to hers. They stole all of the presents from the other lady's car and nothing from my sister's. She also had $1100 cash in a box upfront and when she looked inside she feared the worst but although everything else wasthrown out of it, the money was intact. She had two presents in the back for my children. One was a blanket, although she knew nothing of our need.

When she arrived she said, "God must really wantyou to have these". I thank youLORD for showing us Who You are. I praise Him Who is able and willing to provide for our needs.

I pray others will be willing to step into the wilderness as brother David says, instead of waiting to be pushed into it.
